Foxhole Learning Academy is a mixed primary school and is situated in the centre of the village of Foxhole, four miles from St. Austell in the Clay Area of Cornwall.
The school itself is made of granite and red brick and was built in 1910. The school is housed in the main building, one Elliott building, and it has been extended to include additional learning space and a hall in the recent past. We are fortunate in having both a large playground and a substantial field.
This is a small school which, from September 2019, will have 93 pupils spread over 4 classes. It is a very happy school with dedicated staff and well motivated pupils. We encourage the children to make decisions and develop their social skills. We also encourage sensitivity towards others. Each child is treated as an individual and staff are expected to act as good role models and to assist the children to achieve at the highest standards.
Despite being a small school we run several after school and lunchtime clubs including: football, netball, rounders, cricket, tag rugby, chess, gardening, creative and choir. The choice of clubs on offer varies each term. Our vibrant curriculum also gives children the opportunity to explore the local environment and regular visits around Cornwall to support learning. Our Year 5 and 6 have the chance to learn to sail.
Since September 2019 the school has become a member of the Kernow Learning Trust
